Things I have read and watched, with brief notes on what stayed with me.
A selection of books that have shaped how I think about science, teaching, and everything adjacent.

In brief
I am a trainee science teacher and biotechnology researcher interested in the intersection of science, education, and communication. My research sits at the boundary of microbiology and synthetic biotechnology, with peer-reviewed work in Silicon, BMC Chemistry, and RSC Advances.
This site is a place for writing that does not fit neatly anywhere else: reflections on teaching, commentary on science education, and notes for a general readership on research that matters.
Research
My academic work spans heavy metal sensing, isotope labelling, and metabolic engineering in extremophilic microbiomes. I hold an MSc in Biotechnology with Distinction from the University of Portsmouth (2025) and am currently pursuing doctoral opportunities in environmental and synthetic biotechnology.
